"I asked the question last week during a polite exchange with Bill Prendergast, a regular poster at dumpbachmann.com, and a former writer for the Stillwater Gazette. The question was "Do you know the identity of the "Stillwater Infidel aka NSA"?
The reason I asked is because a number of posts on dumpbachmann.com sounded oddly similar in both form and content to the type of material posted by Stillwater Infidel aka NSA.
Now that Tom Nacey has come out and said there are more, possibly many more, folks responsible for Stillwater Infidel aka NSA posts intimidating school levy opponents, the plot begins to thicken a bit.
Today the big questions are:
Do the posting members of dumpbachmann.com know Tom Nacey?
Have they ever met Tom Nacey?
Did Tom Nacey ever attend any dumpbachman.com meet-ups held in Stillwater or surrounding areas?
Have any of the dumpbachmann folks ever posted under the pseudonym "Stillwater Infidel aka NSA"?
Enquiring minds would like to know."

I'm sorry. I can't answer your questions. This is due to the fact that I have concluded (from your other posts on this topic) that you are in fact a real asshole.
I'm sorry to have to point that out, but circumstances force me to do so. I submit the following in support of my claim:
1) In your attempts to discover the identity of Stillwater Infidel, a person who posted personal information about people and their families on the Internet, you attempted to post personal information about me and my wife on the Internet--about where we worked, what political causes we donated to, etc. I submit that as evidence of your blind assholism.
2) I found that you implied to your readers that the wife of the mayor of Stillwater might be this Stillwater Infidel. I consider that was deeply irresponsible thing to do to another person, on the basis of the pathetic evidence you offered in support of that theory. I noted that you later took down the offending post and apologized--but I submit that only an asshole would do such a thing in the first place.
3) In more than one post on your blog, you implied to your readers that *I* might be the Stillwater Infidel. I know that I am not, and that your evidence in support of that theory was just as pathetic as your evidence against the mayor's wife. Again--assholism.
I am afraid that I cannot in good conscience aid you in your assholism by addressing whatever questions happen to pop into your head. Doing so would only feed your ridiculous theories, and might expose other entirely innocent people to your assholish behavior.

Here at the Stillwater Tribune, we don't trade in disgusting personal rumors and smears about private individuals. This publication has no room for that sort of trash. If you want to spread smears and cheap innuendoes that could ruin other people's names and lives, you will have to do that by calling me up personally and telling me over the phone.

DE: Nice to hear from you again. Your initial dialogue with me was helpful albeit a bit snotty. I sincerely appreciated your willingness to have a civil discussion about a serious topic. There's really nothing like a new nickname between friends.

DE: Somehow sorrow is not what I sense in your remarks. Is it possible that you simply don't want anyone to fully understand just how close Tom Nacey is to anyone on the dumpbachmann team? That's what it seems like to me. I asked politely if each of you had met Nacey, knew him personally, or perhaps blogged under the pseudonym Stillwater Infidel aka NSA. A simple yes or no would have been sufficient. The response you present feels like a smokescreen to further obscure details that could help clean up the SI mess.

DE: What I posted and what SI posted are distinctly disimilar. Your political contributions pop up the moment your name is googled. Your family's significant support for all things DFL, your sarcastic demeanor as a pundit, and your clear connections to Stillwater Infidel aka NSA's website moved you to the top of the list of suspects. I did not publish your address, phone number, car make/model/license plate #, children's names, ages, photos, or your property tax statement. Neither was my intent to anonymously smear you nor intimidate you in any way. I certainly was not trying to influence your involvement with the school levy referendum.

DE: I posted allegations raised by a number of folks in Stillwater. They were posted as allegations because I had not directly contacted Mary. Mary certainly was passionate in her support of the levy and had contact with people who were opposing teh levy. My post alleged a link between the Infidel and Mary. I never implied that Mary was the Infidel even though you have consistently accused me of that. When I spoke to her she asserted that the details I posted were inaccurate. I did not apologize to her for posting the allegations. In fact, Mary was very helpful in clearing up a bunch of questions that ultimately contributed to outing the Infidel. Considering the personal challenges that Mary is facing I apologized for any contribution I made to her stress level.

DE: I clearly stated that you were a prime suspect based on the direct connection between your blog and SI's blog. I asked you direct questions and respectfully posted your responses in their entirety. Your responses contributed to the outing of the Stillwater Infidel aka NSA. So you unintentionally helped our cause. Thank you.
